Biography
In seventh grade, Dustin and his friends made videos for school projects whenever possible. By senior year of high school, he crafted a feature-length film for class credit with his best friend. His uncle still considers it a masterpiece.
With dreams of becoming the next Wes Anderson, he left the suburbs of Boston to study film at Northwestern. After a few projects, he gravitated toward cinematography, drawn more to light and composition than to coaching performances. But directing never fully left him.
In 2004, he shot and directed My Better Half, a 16mm senior thesis. After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles to work as a camera assistant, soaking up as much as he could from directors and DPs like Mike White and Eric Steelberg ASC.
Two decades later, cinematography remains the day job, but when the right project comes along, Dustin is happy to step into the director's chair.
