In mid-January, as the wildfires tore through Los Angeles, I got a call from Eric Georgeson about a gig with the New York Giants. As someone who spent their teenage years in the Boston area, any job for a New York sports team carries significant weight. While my passion for the major leagues has greatly diminished over time, there are just a few franchises that continue to haunt me. Any mention of the Yankees causes a knee jerk reaction.
After living in Los Angeles for over 20 years, my hatred for the Lakers has cooled, but New York still holds her grip on Boston transplants like myself. As images from 2008 of the helmet catch flashed before my eyes (my Dad and I had the misfortune of watching our Patriots have their perfect season spoiled in Glendale, Arizona by those NY Giants), I accepted the assignment.

NFL Schedule Release videos have become a much anticipated event. To surpass expectations, our Director, Dylan Landon, envisioned a frame accurate parody of the Love Island USA Season 5 trailer. His dedicated team meticulously recreated the set and vibes from the source material with a playful actor representing each NY Giant opponent for the 2025 season.
Our Production Designer, Dragon Ridic sorted through numerous different materials before landing on those used to construct the set. Getting the opacity correct, the colors pleasing, and choosing the best layout for camera took a lot of work and coordination between departments. My gaffer, Team Bashet, spent a large chunk of time with our Astera AX1 tubes the day before the shoot getting them programmed and ready for the background.
In our line of work, there’s never enough time. Ideally we would’ve had an entire day to build the set and rig the lights, but our team worked overdrive and we managed to shoot 15 actors, build, and wrap the location within 12 hours. I have to credit our wonderful team for working so efficiently. I didn’t think it was possible to accomplish what we did in so little time!
Thankfully, the internet appreciated our efforts and we earned the #1 ranking from FootballGuys.com. I’ve assembled some clippings from the web highlighting our accomplishments below, please enjoy!

The Los Angeles Times, didn’t hold back with their praise either:

Sports Business Journal locked us in at #4.

CBS Sports concluded:

The Athletic/New York Times wrote this:

Sports Illustrated included us in their top 10:

Apologies for posting this many months late, things have been crazy. Thankfully the 2025 season still hasn’t started! Which team’s schedule release video did you enjoy most? You can watch all 32 here. I like how short and sweet the Bills one is. Full disclosure, I worked with Buffalo’s Josh Allen a few weeks ago, so maybe that polluted my judgement?
