I’m pleased to announce that Josh Crockett and Daniel Sinclair‘s short film, “Dinner with Holly,” will play the 15th Annual Maryland Film Festival as part of the comedy shorts program. Tickets are not yet available, but I’ll blast a link on Twitter and update this page when I get the info. The festival takes place in Baltimore from May 8-12, 2013.
This short trailer below gives a little taste of the comedic nature of the film. “Dinner With Holly” is a 12-minute short about a young couple who plan to spice up their love life when their friend, Holly, comes over for dinner. Without giving anything away, the working title was, “When We Were Young and Fun,” but we casually referred to it as “Threesome” for brevity.
We have three showtimes at the Wind Up Space: May 10th at 10pm, May 11th at 3pm, and May 12th at 5pm. Mark your calendars!
It is a special treat that our block at the festival contains the directorial debut of an old friend, Morgan Krantz. His short, “The Cyclist” is having it’s premiere at the festival. You may recognize Morgan from his memorable character in Lena Dunham’s “Girls” where he played Morgan in the second episode (“Vagina Panic”). We first worked together back in 2005 on Adam Green’s “Hatchet” where I was the A-camera 2nd Assistant Cameraman and he was the Art Department Assistant.
“Dinner with Holly” also played the 5th Annual Bootleg Edinburgh on Saturday March 23, 2013 during the 3:30pm – 6:30pm block. It sounded like a cool event, but getting there posed a slight logistical issue! Apologies if any of my readers were in the area during those dates and didn’t know about the screening!
I strongly encourage you to read my blog entry that recounts the production process. You should also check out this brief interview with Dan and Josh from the Oxford Film Festival blog.
